Casino Royale: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The soundtrack to the 2006 film Casino Royale was released by Sony Classical on November 14, 2006. The music was composed by David Arnold and is Arnold's fourth soundtrack for the popular James Bond movie series. Frequent collaborator Nicholas Dodd orchestrated and conducted the score.

Casino Royale is a fictional casino which first appears in Ian Fleming's 1953 James Bond novel Casino Royale, located in the fictional French seaside resort of Royale-les-Eaux. The casino was subsequently featured in the 1954 CBS television adaptation and official 2006 Eon film adaptation of Fleming's novel (with the latter casino located instead in Montenegro). A very different version of.

Casino Royale is Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel, published in 1953. The story entails James Bond, Agent 007 of the 'Secret Service', travelling to the casino at Royale-les-Eaux in order to bankrupt a fifth-columnist, Le Chiffre, the treasurer of a French union and a member of the Russian secret service. Bond is supported in his endeavours by Vesper Lynd, a member of his own service, as. Directed by Val Guest, Ken Hughes, John Huston. With David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Orson Welles. In an early spy spoof, aging Sir James Bond comes out of retirement to take on SMERSH. 'Casino Royale' is a live 1954 television adaptation of the 1953 novel of the same name by Ian Fleming. An episode of the American dramatic anthology series Climax!, the show was the first screen adaptation of a James Bond novel, and stars Barry Nelson, Peter Lorre, and Linda Christian.Though this marks the first onscreen appearance of the secret agent, Nelson's Bond is played as an American. 'You Know My Name' is the theme song of the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale, performed by American musician Chris Cornell.Cornell wrote and produced it jointly with David Arnold, the soundtrack's composer. The film producers chose Cornell because they wanted a strong male singer. Cornell and Arnold tried to make the song a replacement theme for the character instead of the 'James Bond.

Development[edit]

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced on July 26, 2006 that Chris Cornell, the former Audioslave and Soundgarden lead singer, composed and would sing 'You Know My Name', the Casino Royale title song.[1] Cornell collaborated with David Arnold who composed the film's score. Cornell was first reported to be writing and performing the song on July 20, 2006 by the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat. 'You Know My Name' is the first theme song since 1983's Octopussy to use a different title than the film, and Cornell is the first male performer since a-ha (in 1987's The Living Daylights). It is only the fourth Bond theme (after the opening medley of Dr. No, the instrumental theme from On Her Majesty's Secret Service and 'All Time High' from Octopussy) to make no reference to the title of the film. The soundtrack was completed early in the morning on October 11, 2006.[2] The soundtrack was released on November 14, 2006.

Various names were reported in the media prior to the announcement, some reports going so far as to have the performers apparently claim they were working on the theme. This list includes Tina Turner[3] who previously sang 'GoldenEye' for the 1995 Bond film of the same name, and Tony Christie.[4]

Title song and tracks[edit]

Casino Royale Wikipedia

The Casino Royale title song 'You Know My Name' by Chris Cornell is not featured on the soundtrack album, but released separately as a single. However, motifs from the song serve as Bond's theme throughout the film, e.g. the tracks 'I'm the Money' and 'Aston Montenegro', feature two different instrumental renditions of its chorus. The 'You Know My Name' CD single was released on December 11, 2006.

Some cues for the movie that did not make the final selection of tracks for the soundtrack album are available as bonus track downloads in iTunes from the iTunes Store.

The traditional James Bond Theme builds throughout the film before appearing in its full form over the end credits as track 25, 'The Name's Bond . . . James Bond', on the official album.

The Estoril Casino (Portuguese: Casino do Estoril) is a casino in the Portuguese Riviera, in the municipality of Cascais, in the Portugal. Today, it is one of the biggest working casinos in Europe.

History[edit]

The first stone was laid on 16 January 1916 by then-President Dr. Bernardino Machado, a venture of Fausto Figueiredo.[1]

During the Second World War, it was reputed to be a gathering point for spies, dispossessed royals, and wartime adventurers; it became an inspiration for Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 novel Casino Royale.[2]

The casino passed into the hands of José Teodoro dos Santos in 1958.[3] During the 1960s, the primitive building was expanded, under the direction of Filipe Nobre de Figueiredo and José Segurado, accompanied by the civil engineer Manuel Agostinho Duarte Gaspar, and was decorated by Daciano da Costa and José Espinho.[1]

Following the death of José Teodoro dos Santos in 1987, the concession was headed by a consortium of family members, that included his widow (Marcelina Teodoro dos Santos), his son (Jorge Teodoro dos Santos) and his daughter (D. Maria Emilia Teodoro dos Santos Telles). The presidency of the administrative council was headed by Santos' son-in-law Dr. Manuel Joaquim Telles, co-adjunct of Grupo Estoril-Sol's administration. The administration of Estoril-Sol also included his children (Dr. José Telles and Dr. Jorge Telles), Henrique Rosa Santos, his mother (D. Henriqueta Santos) and his sister (D. Ana Maria Santos). After 1987, majority interest was obtained by Stanley Ho, and began to be administered by Mário Assis Ferreira.

Architecture[edit]

The modernist architecture is situated in the coastal area of Estoril, in the municipality of Cascais, situated 18 kilometres (11 mi) from the southwest of Lisbon.
